Forgive us for intruding on your peaceful private life and disturbing you with a new missive.

 

Sir of Earth: Although we have already repeated this gesture with three other brothers of yours in France, Norway and Canada, we wish to express to you and to the rest of your brothers of Oyagaa our sadness at the death of your brother Jean Paul Sartre.

 

His brain was one of the most privileged we have detected in living humans during the interval in which we have been visiting your cold star.

 

We cannot make an apology for many aspects of his fluctuating ideology, which we consider flatly mistaken. We regret that, like many of the thinkers contemporary with him, he rejected the thesis of the existence of a creator (GOD or WOA), and that in his final years he leaned towards positions akin to anarchist thought.

 

But what can honest scientists and consistent philosophers do when they observe how the name of God is used to mask the most odious crimes against the law of nations, and that the great structures of religion have become economic emporia that contribute to the terrible social imbalances you suffer?

 

My brothers, who are at present carrying out an exhaustive analysis of the sociocultural and socioeconomic patterns governing the evolution of the Earth Social Network, have been impressed by the lucid and profound study made by Mr Sartre of the country of France, grasping in all its drama the terrible loneliness of the human: unable to establish more stable bonds that would integrate him into his Network; the tragedy of Oemmi of Earth oppressed by a society without solidarity, struggling amid the mists of an emotional sphere that is savage and unbalanced.

 

When some of your brothers who know us, Mr Jorge Barrenechea, challenge us thus: why do you, who say you come from another Planet, not give us the formula to get out of this swamp?

 

We fervently wish to offer you an answer, perhaps frustrating, but consistent with a logic familiar to you:

 

Examine the question: brothers of privileged brain such as Marcuse, Fromm, Poulantzas, Sartre, Russell ... set out with great clarity the roots of the ills that corrode the social structure of Earth. Brothers of yours too, such as John XXIII, Gramsci, Helder Cámara, Che Guevara, Romero, Camilo Torres, Teilhard de Chardin, Gandhi, Marx, Mao Tse Tung ... offered with their ideology an anguished call to the other Oemmi of Earth. All of them understood that to base happiness on a socioeconomic model of consumption would plunge the rest of the social whole into frustration and hopelessness. But who followed them? A large fraction of the Network preferred to follow a Hitler, a Pinochet, a model as inhuman as that of the United States, or took shelter under the iron bureaucracy of totalitarian states with a dogmatic socialist economy.

 

Mr Jorge: There is no magic and mysterious formula for bringing a Social Network out of chaos within a limited interval and turning it into an integrated system of pure and happy biological beings. For each evolutionary stage of a biological phylum that has reached a system of signals (Nervous System) capable of processing information and producing intelligent responses (NETWORK OF OEMMI), there exists only one optimal model of social organization that also optimizes its psychological and material well-being. But if the blindness of its members chooses another model very far removed from it, illogical, destructive because of its characteristics that corrode the stability of the Network (even having before their eyes a constructive and intelligent critique produced by more developed encephalic masses), what solution is there then?

 

Thousands of voices among you have been raised denouncing the shameful oppression suffered by your brothers living in destitute surroundings. Thousands of voices, like that of Sartre's intelligent YIE, Simone de Beauvoir, have spoken out denouncing the shameful and most dangerous oppression in which the men of Earth, relying on their brutal muscular strength, keep the woman of Earth (in our judgement the first and most serious factor of social imbalance); and what have you done, humans of more progressive mentality, but go on violating the rights of the YlE and despising, at an unconscious level, the human bodies (1) less endowed with intellectual capacity? How can you then condemn your other brothers of more retrograde ideology?

 

 

Your brothers, Sir, ask us for: SOLUTIONS:

 

If your “friend”, Mr Jorge, rejects the banana you offer him, why does he postulate with irrational inconsistency that an extraterrestrial being should offer him another banana with skin and aroma identical to the one he repudiated?

 

Well: we are aware, Sir, that the problem is more complex and that this last, naive and simplistic parable does not clarify it in any relevant way.

 

Let us go on analysing the question in summary. In principle, we or another of the civilizations of galactic origin that are observing you, with a higher degree of development, could give you a substantial volume of data that would theoretically serve to improve your standard of living, reduce your terrible internal tensions and allow you to develop a political-economic model based on scientific premises.

 

As examples of such a contribution: we could correct the serious errors in the estimation of the economic variables integrated into the models of Forrester and Meadows presented to the Club of Rome, which give a strongly distorted image of the economic future of Earth.

 

We could offer you the key for obtaining clean energy by nuclear fusion, or offer you a primitive model of the system (untranslatable) called by us IBOOZOOAUEWA, which makes it possible to reconvert an intense beam of PI mesons, obtained in a very simple way, into a great flow of energy.

 

We could give you the solution in each case for the low-cost synthesis of edible proteins and lipids, which would immediately reduce the horrible spectre of hunger approaching you in the coming years if you do not succeed in reducing your rates of demographic expansion.

 

We could offer you the technology needed to produce basic metals by nuclear fusion (synthesis) and with hardly any energy expenditure.

 

We could provide you with the technology indispensable to eradicate the genesis of neoplastic (cancerous) tissues and all the diseases of infectious aetiology still resistant to the chemotherapy of Oyagaa.

 

Let us interrupt, so as not to make this brief report tedious, the sample of contributions which we would no doubt be able to send you free of charge.

 

But we see with astonishment that you do not seem to realize clearly the consequences that this apparent charitable prodigality would bring you.

 

Stop and examine, Mr Jorge Barrenechea, the present situation of Earth.

 

In your Social Network of today there are two clearly differentiated segments. I am telling you nothing new with this, Sir.

 

One, very much in the minority and well selected, is made up of the HOLDERS OF INFORMATION. Almost the whole body of data that the Humanity of this cold Star possesses today is MANIPULATED by the ruling classes (military, politicians, technicians, scientists and especially the holders of the means of production). You must never forget that POSSESSION OF INFORMATION = POWER. There are naive analysts among you who still think of the binomial POWER/MONEY. It is evident that it is not so. Another matter is that, on reaching power through the monopoly of information, they succeed in monopolizing the most important sources of economic development.

 

In second place, we see the second segment of the Social Network, immensely in the majority. A huge mass of population incapable of handling data, understanding them, reworking them and using them intelligently. It would grieve me, Sir, if you had not realized that the most sophisticated and cruel technique used by the first segment consists in alienating the second, majority segment, which has no intellectual defences.

 

How does it bring about that disturbance of their weak intellectual mechanisms? Simply by reinjecting into their brains currents of thought based on magical and irrational patterns. While the holders of power, with deliberate cunning, monopolize technology and are governed by scientific logical patterns, millions of OEMII of Earth let themselves be poisoned by superstitions, by pseudo-religious ideas, by irrational myths. From the centres of power that hold the media, the spreading of absurd doctrines, of anti-scientific conceptions of the universe, of occultism in all its forms, is encouraged, while the few voices that dare to denounce these distortions of logic are silenced.

 

For naturally your Science is still scarcely developed and is in a phase of accumulating errors and models still insufficiently refined regarding the behaviour of inert and biological matter; but even more absurd and psychopathological is the sum of delirious ideas that the detractors of the Science of Earth spread, to the barely contained joy of the members of the first segment, who observe with delight that as long as the masses are drugged with those currents of magical thought they will not be capable of manipulating THEIR INFORMATION.

 

Are those brothers of yours who make up the Power-holding Segment wicked and sadistic? Our concept is different. They are simply sick beings who use their neurocorticoencephalic development to defend themselves against the less gifted. Ancestral and visceral processes and mechanisms of animal origin thus intervene for their self-defence (which you call SELFISHNESS or classify under the name of asocial and criminal Psychopathies). The name is irrelevant: a simple semantic question. The serious thing is that those intelligent defensive mechanisms impel them to seize information, manipulate it and corrupt it, thus controlling Technology and with it the basic means of production. In this way they drug themselves with a hedonistic well-being and plunge the rest of humanity into chaos.

 

With these preliminary considerations, reconsider the problem outlined above. Imagine that we, humans of the star UMMO, compiled for you that voluminous dossier of technical data that would apparently achieve the liberation of the Social Network.

 

To whom do we hand it? To a humble peasant? To a Buddhist monk? To a modest University professor, who would not know how to decode such a complex mass of data on their own, nor would have the data to arrive at its practical application?

 

Can you imagine, Sir, into whose hands that valuable dossier would end up falling?

 

Suppose we hand it to you, men of Canada, of Spain, of France, of Norway, friends of ours who believe in our existence with a certain degree of reliability. Would you keep it in a strongbox, making it sterile? And if you publish it in instalments among your friends of magic and occultism, what use would it be?

 

Most probably it would finally come into the possession of that Oligarchy, the only one capable of understanding it, of using it… And what do you think it would do with it? Are you so naive, Sir, as still to believe that they would use it for the benefit of the Social Network?

 

Brothers of yours who, aware of their monstrousness, devise an economic model of free market capable of burning tons of wheat to keep prices up and thus benefit a few to the detriment of millions of undernourished infants? Who are capable of bringing the cold star to the brink of nuclear hecatomb to defend one of their own, a criminal psychopath like Mohamed Reza (ex-Shah of Iran), for the simple reason that he holds one of the greatest economic powers, obtained by plundering his brothers? Is it to them that we would hand our dossier? What do you think they would do with that technological contribution?

 

Let us see different examples: how would they use our high-resolution techniques that allow the mutation of a sequence of polynucleotides within the cell nucleus? To eradicate cancer, as we do? Who would guarantee it to us? NO. We will tell you bluntly: with that technique they would develop new self-resistant pathogenic microorganisms to use them in a possible war of a bacteriological character. Or, what is worse, to synthesize almost brainless humanoid beings that would serve as slaves on their production lines.

 

What would be the use of handing you a structure of 2070 equations capable of preparing an econometric model of the future behaviour of an extensive family of variables (demographic expansion, growth of investment, natural resources, environmental pollution, energy consumption ...)? To devise an international economic order based not on the free monopoly of the means of production but on a just distribution of resources? Do not be naive. That matrix would be used immediately by States as nefarious as the United States, Israel, Japan or Federal Germany to dominate foreign markets, tearing one another to pieces and marginalizing even further the miserable countries of the south.

 

And who do you think would benefit from our schemes for obtaining energy by fusion? The Republic of Guinea? With what would it build the magnetohydrodynamic plasma reactors? With cocoa pulp? ... Or Kenya with peanut shells?

 

Think, for example, of a hypothetical situation: let us secretly hand your brother Luis Jiménez Maruhenda an item of technological equipment designed to cure any leukaemic condition. We can build a device so designed for you, although our system of therapy follows other paths. Your brother, enthusiastic at the generosity of my brothers of Ummo, launches a moving appeal through a modulation of electromagnetic wave trains carried by his radio station. Thousands of patients flock to his Urban centre ... How long do you think a device of those characteristics would remain in his possession, from whose examination an impressive volume of information could be inferred ...?

 

With deep sadness, Mr Jorge, we confess to you our powerlessness to help you; it is no longer the violation of an ethic that prevents us from interfering in your evolution (even if we violated it, how could we overcome other barriers?). Would you not even need to reconvert your whole industry before being able to use our technology? Where would you obtain the enormous contributions of capital for it? And who would tolerate power passing into other hands? Would you not have to face the whole nuclear might of certain nations which, rather than lose it, would reduce your OYAGAA to nuclear ashes?

 

Sir: if in a few brief pages we have summarized all these difficulties, you can imagine the mass of problems we could present to you if we gave you a more complete analysis of the problem. That is why, when you beg us: Come, men from outer space, to help us!, our heart is torn and we remain silent ... !

 

Men like the one who has just died have the solutions. Long ago a human of divine origin gave you others. What have you done with them? You have transformed the sublime contributions of Jesus into a mass of superstitious ideas and into the support of gigantic ecclesiastical structures devoted to profit. You have transformed the intelligent ideas of Marx and Mao into gigantic bureaucratized structures, more intent on defending themselves from their enemies and on imitating western models of consumption than on achieving that socializing and sublime ideal of their theorists. You watch in astonishment the spectacle of a State that calls itself just and socialist violating the right to independence of a neighbouring Arab country, while the criminal cynicism of its antagonist, which years ago massacred the people of Vietnam, utters hypocritical howls of pain... You are gravely ill, friends of Earth. And we watch, impressed and saddened, what may be the final holocaust of the Social Network of Earth. We do not even dare to advise you. We fear that any word of ours would be mythified, distorted, corrupted, trivialized. We see you heading, singing, playing instruments and amusing yourselves like heedless children, towards a cemetery of nuclear waste. May WOA have mercy on you.

 

Sir: Forgive us once again the cumbersome length of this letter

 

My wish this time is that you greet in a special way your intelligent wife, on behalf of other YlE.

 

Ask her to allow us, as a symbolic gesture, to rest our hand on her noble chest.

 

This special wish has a special significance in this document. We want, with its paragraphs, to raise our disagreement and our firmest and most wrathful repudiation, our harshest and most condemnatory protest (to the extent that you can tolerate our intrusion), at the continual aggression and humiliation which the men of Earth, almost without exception, impose on their biological companions, who in great proportion surpass their brutal oppressors in self-denial, intelligence and capacity for unconscious capture of stimuli from the environment.
